Chadalavada Sisters

Kuchipudi Dancers

Sriya Laalitha Chadalavada and Srila Hyndhavi Chadalavada are sisters based in Cincinnati, Ohio. They pursue their love of the classical Indian dance form Kuchipudi.

The Chadalavada Sister's Kuchipudi Journey

The Chadalavada sisters began their first Kuchipudi steps in 2002, under the guidance of Smt. G. Nirmala Rameshin Tenali, India. Their early lessons involved several teachers from various places. In 2008, Sriya and Srila met Smt. Suvarna Pappu in Cleveland, Ohio and continued their training to an advanced level. With Smt. Suvarna’s strong teaching skills, intense training and Sriya and Srila’s love and dedication for the art of Kuchipudi dance, they presented their Rangapravesam. They have continued to add to their dance repertoire through the teachings of Sri K. V. Satyanarayana since 2010 and Smt. A. B. Bala Kondala Rao since 2013.

Sriya gave her first Kuchipudi performance at age five in Tenali, India. Since then, both the sisters have been performing in several cities including Cleveland, Youngstown, Indianapolis, Houston, Detroit, and Pittsburgh. Srila won the 1st prize at the Kuchipudi dance competition conducted by North American Telugu Association Conference at Houston, Texas in 2012.

The Chadalavada sisters have achieved numerous academic and extracurricular awards throughout their school years. For high school, they attended Chatham Hall, an all-girls college preparatory boarding high school in Virginia. Both studied with merit scholarships and were on the Dean’s list. Currently, they are pursuing their undergraduate studies at Kenyon College.

Sriya and Srila are fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the Telugu language and their future plans include pursuing the field of medicine.
